<p>Not to shabby for a young man if I don&#8217;t mind my saying! Talk about getting the meaning of life! And, at such a young age to boot.</p>
<p>Think about this for a minute&#8230;this young man is asking the world what they see and then he goes and hands it to them front and center&#8230;wow!</p>
<p>It kind of gives me the visual from Saturday morning cartoons when the little devil and the little angel were on Porky Pigs shoulders working him over as to what direction he should go.</p>
<p>You know, if we are really honest, we are actually born very self-centered. What the first thing we do when we take our first breath of air? We scream bloody murder&#8230;I&#8217;m cold and feed me right now!</p>
<p>We must first recognize the selfish side of our existence and then teach ourselves to be good.</p>
<p>This poem, in my opinion, exposes the spiritual warfare that goes on in all of us.</p>

<p>The experts say that everybody is responsible for their own actions. I agree to a point;} If you go out and deliberately hurt something or somebody shame on you and you get what you have coming to you&#8230;period.</p>
<p>But, if your actions can &#8220;affect&#8221; the feelings for another in a positive form and create harmony in the actions of another&#8230;so holds true to the opposite.</p>
<p>In this <em><strong>spiritual and friendship poem</strong>,</em> Cody&#8217;s life is directly &#8220;affected&#8221; by the life of his brother&#8217;s actions. It promotes unity between those individuals and the &#8220;life&#8221; cycle draws into effect.</p>

<p>At this time of year many of us contemplate a period of reflection; a time to look back over the past year with a discerning eye; a time to weigh up the good and the bad; a time to evaluate where we feel we have progressed and where we feel we need to make more effort.</p>
<p>Consequently, many of us consider this time of year to be a good time to look to the future. Some individuals will think about what they would like to do in the next twelve months while others consider their whole future. As a result of this we make our new years resolutions, we set our goals and we make our plans.</p>
<p>On January 1st we can take our first step on our new &#8220;chosen&#8221; path. We start the journey towards a better way of life. Whether we want to make small changes e.g. lose weight, stop smoking, drink less, etc. or whether the &#8216;goal&#8217; is much larger e.g. to become a better person, the journey is not easy. Every year many people give up and return to the place where they started, where they were comfortable. No one ever said it was going to be easy!</p>
<h2><strong> A little bit of advice before you go any further.</strong></h2>
<p>Whatever you want to do in this coming year or so, the way in which you set your goals is important.</p>
<p>* First of all, your &#8220;why&#8221; factor must be in place! That will be the driving force (we will speak more on this as we go). Make sure that your goals are specific &#8211; what you want to achieve and when you want to achieve it by. Set &#8220;exact&#8221; figures and dates. If targets are large then break them down into smaller steps. It is difficult to lose10Kg in weight but if you set your first target at 10% of the total and you aim to reach the target by February the first then it will be easier to succeed. Similarly, becoming a better person takes a long time.</p>
<p>If you aim to start every day with &#8216;Good morning&#8230;&#8217; and a smile (even when you find it difficult -this is the best time to create new positive habits) you could easily turn that into a regular habit by the first of February &#8211; and you are more likely to succeed. Just break everything down into little steps and set dates by which you want to achieve your goals. Take moments at a time. Remember, it is important that the targets are measurable as you must be able to decide when you have achieved the target and when to move on to the next step.</p>
<p>* Write your goals down and keep them close to you. This way you can look at your goals repeatedly. It is just too easy to write things down and to forget about it within a few days. Tack them, paste them, tape them everywhere you exist in your world.</p>
<p>With this in mind, how did you get where you are right now? &#8220;Why&#8221; are you even seeking a change? Again, your &#8220;why&#8221; is going to be your driving factor. You created your world, as it is, little moments at a time and repeated them over and over. You can create and recreate anything in your life, with momentary goal setting, reading them at every turn. Start small and grow as you gain confidence with yourself. We are with you and here for you!</p>
<p>* Make a public commitment. Tell a &#8220;trusted&#8221; friend what you want to achieve (not just anybody). This does two things. Firstly, it will help you to feel more committed to your goals. Secondly, it will bring a trusted friend alongside &#8211; they will give you moral support when you need it. <p>You may be wondering what this has to do with <em><strong>religious quotes</strong></em>. The answer is that inspiration and motivation are key factors governing our thoughts and behavior. What&#8217;s interesting to us is the idea that different individuals are often inspired by similar ideas (or different aspects of the idea). Some inspiration is based on our values and beliefs but it is general enough to make a great deal of sense in a wider context. If we share our sources of inspiration then we all benefit.</p>
<h2>Where do we go from here?</h2>
<p>My aim is to provide inspiration, with these <em><strong>Religious Quotes, </strong></em>that you can use in your daily life. I would also like you to help me to multiply the motivational ideas with the contribution of your own positive thoughts, feelings and experiences (in relation to the quotes presented).</p>
<p>I hope to enable a unity of community where positivity and light influence all our futures and which supports us as we move forward on our chosen paths.<br />
Here&#8217;s what we are going to do:</p>
<p>1. I will select the first <strong><em>religious quote</em></strong>. I will chose a quote which I think is appropriate for the start of the new year and the start of this blog.</p>
<p>2. I contribute  my thoughts to the related <em><strong>religious quote</strong></em>.</p>
<p>3. I invite YOU personally to give your contribution to the blog<em><strong>(please make a comment)</strong></em> &#8211; keeping in mind that we are trying to produce a place where people of all races and religions can unite in their mission to develop a better world, please ensure that your comments are encouraging. This is not about right or wrong, good or bad, it is about inspiring each other, regardless of belief, and moving forward to a better life speaking life to each other. Tell us about the stories and ideas that changed your lives.</p>
<p>4. One week after the quote and initial comments are posted I will ask the contributors to vote <strong><em>(so please make a comment)</em></strong> for the individual who they consider to have provided the best comment in terms of further inspiration or guidance. If there are no votes cast or there is a tie I will have the final decision (this could prove interesting  &#8211; all contributors would be asked for quotes and comments).</p>
<p>5. I will then invite the person selected (as a result of this process) to provide an inspirational <em><strong>religious quote</strong></em> of their choice and the individual will also become the first to contribute their thoughts, feelings and experiences in relation to the quote. The individual must be able to supply the source of the quote so that we can check this before using it on this site.<br />
6. If the individual does not supply an inspirational <em><strong>religious quote</strong></em> then I will supply another <em><strong>religious quote</strong></em>.</p>
