~ Easter Quotes~Jesus’ Crucifixion ~

The pictures used for this post of Religious Quotes is graciously borrowed from
Pictures of Jesus 4 You. Please do not use any of these pictures for your own purpose. If you use the image on a site please display a link and direction to their website. If you really like any of these pictures please go to and purchase one of these brilliant works of art.

Christ…God’s “Sacrificial” Gift

Whether you believe in Christ or not He is a real person that lived then and lives now. He is either inside or outside of your life. That is your choice that you have been graciously given by your Creator.

The beautiful part of history is that Jesus did exist as any other human, and the events that took part during Easter are historical “facts”! The events are not made up. If there is any other human being that can prove it otherwise then please come forward and redirect us to the truth. There has not been one human being that has proved anything from the Bible “false”…every bit of it.

Please understand that I am not trying to be argumentative about this incredible man- God, but just remember…the bible is a historical book based off of factual recorded events like any other history book out there, but this one has been inspired by the love of God.

If you believe any history book you might want to believe this one as well. The history gathered here is for you, not against you.

Did you know, the Bible is still the number one best selling book of all time! “Still”. Funny how you don’t here that in The New York Times, or any other.

This is not only the love story from God about how to really give, but it is also about how to give your life for the greater of the good of each other.

Our lives were not created to give out of our abundance. Christ was the model…one must give out of sacrifice.

“This is my body which is given for you. Every time you eat bread, think of me.” “This wine is my blood that will be shed to remove the sins of all who come to believe in me and it is the start of a new agreement between God and mankind.”

Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and will be mocked, and mistreated and spit upon, and after they have scourged Him, they will kill Him; and the third day He will rise again.

“But look! The one who betrays me is here at the table with me! The son of Man will die as God has decided, but how terrible for that man who betrays him!” Then they began to ask among themselves which one of them it could be who was going to do this.
Then he tells Judas to do quickly what he must do and Judas leaves. The rest of the disciples think Judas, who holds the purse, was sent to buy something in preparation for the Passover festival and did not perceive that he was about to betray Jesus.

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions

‘Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done’ (Luke 22:41-42).

“Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken away from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will'” (Matthew 26:39)

“He went away a second time and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done'” (Matt. 26:42).”
‘Abba, Father,’ he said, ‘everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will” (Mark 14:36).

“he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, ‘My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me” (Matt. 26:37-38, cf. Mark 14:33-34).
“And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground” (Luke 22:44).

“An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him” (Luke 22:43).

Not My Will, but Yours Be Done

Luke 22:47-54a

[47] While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, [48] but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

[49] When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” [50] And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.

[51] But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

[52] Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? [53] Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour — when darkness reigns.”

[54] Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest.

Peter Disowns Jesus

69Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.

70But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.

71Then he went out to the gateway, where another girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

72He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”

73After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, “Surely you are one of them, for your accent gives you away.”

74Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!”

Immediately a rooster crowed. 75Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. Matthew 26:69-75

Judas Hangs Himself

1Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision to put Jesus to death. 2They bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate, the governor.

3When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. 4“I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.”
“What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.”

5So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

6The chief priests picked up the coins and said, “It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.” 7So they decided to use the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners. 8That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel, 10and they used them to buy the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.”[a] Matthew 27 1-10

Jesus Before Pilate

11Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
“Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied.

12When he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he gave no answer. 13Then Pilate asked him, “Don’t you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?” 14But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge—to the great amazement of the governor.

15Now it was the governor’s custom at the Feast to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd. 16At that time they had a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas. 17So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” 18For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.

19While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”

20But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.

21“Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor.
“Barabbas,” they answered.

22“What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked.
They all answered, “Crucify him!”

23“Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!” Matthew 27 11-23

24When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!”

25All the people answered, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”

26Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. Matthew 27 24-26

The Soldiers Mock and Beat Jesus

27Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. 28They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, 29and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. 30They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. 31After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him. Matthew 27 27-31 [ Mind you, Jesus was beat beyond recognition. Every bit of his body was torn open.]

31After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him. Matthew 27 31

26As they led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus. 27A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. 28Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. 29For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ 30Then

” ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!”

and to the hills, “Cover us!” ‘[d] 31For if men do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”Luke 23 26-31

The Crucifixion

32Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”[e] And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

35The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

36The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar 37and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”

38There was a written notice above him, which read:|sc THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!”

40But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[f]

43Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23 32-43

If Easter says anything to us today, it says this: You can put truth in a grave, but it won’t stay there. You can nail it to a cross, wrap it in winding sheets and shut it up in a tomb, but it will rise!”
— Clarence W. Hall

Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.”

The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.
– Henry Knox Sherrill

Tomb, thou shalt not hold Him longer; Death is strong, but Life is stronger; Stronger than the dark, the light; Stronger than the wrong, the right; Faith and Hope triumphant say Christ will rise on Easter Day.

Awake, thou wintry earth–
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!

Irish Quotes ~ Irish Blessings ~ Irish Toasts for St. Patrick’s Day

I thought that some good ole’ Irish Quotes, Irish Blessings, and Irish toasts on St. Patrick’s Day would be appropriate for this occasion. They even have some awesome Religious Quotes to boot. On top of all that, it is my beautiful wife’s and I’s 18th wedding anniversary. So I am beginning with a really cool Irish wedding quote.

By the power that Christ brought from heaven, mayst thou love me.
As the sun follows its course, mayst thou follow me.
As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart, may thy presence be with me, oh one that I love, till death comes to part us. …Kirstin Swenson

But one thing to remember about the Irish…they love their “Suds”. So I am going to live on the lighter side of things and throw in a few down to earth Irish Quotes just for fun.

Irish Quotes of Blessings

May God be with you and bless you,
May you see your children’s children,
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

The test of Gold is Fire. The test of Truth is Time.
The test of God’s love are the heavens above, and everything sublime.
Treasures in life are many, dreams realized but few,
but I know the test of God’s goodness, is when he gave me a friend like you.

May your grass always be green
May your skies forever blue
May God Bless the Irish
And may God bless you!…Kelly

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

The test of Gold is Fire. The test of Truth is Time.
The test of God’s love are the heavens above, and everything sublime.
Treasures in life are many, dreams realized but few,
but I know the test of God’s goodness, is when he gave me a friend like you.

May the light of friendship guide your paths together.
May the laughter of children grace the halls of your home.
May the joy of living for one another trip a smile from your lips, a twinkle from your eye.

Irish Toasts~On The Lighter Side Of Things

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead.

Here’s to me, and here’s to you,
And here’s to love and laughter-
I’ll be true as long as you,
And not one moment after.

Here’s to you and yours
And to mine and ours.
And if mine and ours
Ever come across to you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
As much for mine and ours
As mine and ours have done
For you and yours!

Health and life to you;
The mate of your choice to you;
Land without rent to you,
And death in Eirinn.

Here’s a toast to your enemies’ enemies!

When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
So, let’s all get drunk, and go to heaven!

Here’s to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold beer—and another one!

Here’s to our wives and girlfriends:
May they never meet!

I hope you all like these so far I will get more as I go. This is good stuff!!

How many people have arise with this one??

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson

Truth Seeking

” The most effectual means of preventing the perversion of power into tyranny are to illuminate, as far as practicable, the minds of the people. It is an insult to our citizens to question whether they are rational beings or not, and blasphemy against religion to suppose it cannot stand the test of truth and reason. Light and liberty go together. I look to the diffusion of light and education as the resource most to be relied on for ameliorating the condition, promoting the virtue, and advancing the happiness of man. Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day. If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. No nation is permitted to live in ignorance with impunity. “

Spiritual and Friendship Poems

Spiritual and Friendship Poems, I feel, are Religious Quotes buried deep inside the soul. They are actually more than a quote, more like inspirational bible verses carved from a piece of the person’s entity. These sweet quotes tend to need some sort of translation due to the intense nature behind the story. Kind of like bible scripture…if you will.

What are the characteristics of a true spiritual person? Words of spiritual encouragement come from inspired people traveling into the wild quotes of outstanding individuals derived from a list of religions.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this. This is deep yet very simplistic…

Please feel free to comment. I would love the feedback!

“If you looked into my eyes what would you see?
You would see love, passion, opportunity
all being held back by humanistic selfishness.
If you looked into my eyes what would you see?
You would see the love, passion, and opportunity
fighting back against that Swiper trying to steel my heart.
If you looked into my eyes what would you see?
My soul fighting the Holy Spirit, wanting to set me free.
If you looked into my eyes what would you see?
You would see a young boy becoming a spiritual warrior…
trying to fight the devil in me.”

Written by: Cody Lowe age 14

Not to shabby for a young man if I don’t mind my saying! Talk about getting the meaning of life! And, at such a young age to boot.

Think about this for a minute…this young man is asking the world what they see and then he goes and hands it to them front and center…wow!

It kind of gives me the visual from Saturday morning cartoons when the little devil and the little angel were on Porky Pigs shoulders working him over as to what direction he should go.

You know, if we are really honest, we are actually born very self-centered. What the first thing we do when we take our first breath of air? We scream bloody murder…I’m cold and feed me right now!

We must first recognize the selfish side of our existence and then teach ourselves to be good.

This poem, in my opinion, exposes the spiritual warfare that goes on in all of us.

“If what you give, in life, is God…how much of Him is in you? ”

A single soul as bright as the sun
Finding another is next to none
Shining bright is hard to do
But not when I’m standing next to you.
You give me passion
You give me hope
You give me reason to live
You cover all my holes
In my life’s sieve.
You are my brother
Nothing can change that.
I love teaching you
How to swing a baseball bat.
But, it is you that taught me the most
When my heart was turning to ghost.
You brought me back to reality
Knowing all that’s happened to you.
Just thinking about it makes my heart blue.
People see you and say they’ve seen a UFO sighting
Because you are “different” just keep on fighting!

Also written by: Cody Lowe age 14

This was written to his Autistic brother who inspires him in many ways as you can see.

The experts say that everybody is responsible for their own actions. I agree to a point;} If you go out and deliberately hurt something or somebody shame on you and you get what you have coming to you…period.

But, if your actions can “affect” the feelings for another in a positive form and create harmony in the actions of another…so holds true to the opposite.

In this spiritual and friendship poem, Cody’s life is directly “affected” by the life of his brother’s actions. It promotes unity between those individuals and the “life” cycle draws into effect.

Hence, your actions do affect the choices of others and you are somewhat responsible for their actions.

Being that we are all not perfect between the ears we must have the mentality to help carry the burden of others as a priority in order to keep a balance in society.

We enter into this world selfish. In order to leave a lasting impression on humanity we must give our lives away as as servant to a divine order. Give to others as you would want them to give to you. Hey, give them spiritual and friendship poems. Or, get them for yourself and learn how to write them. I know you have a beautiful story to share.

Get inspired to be inspiring.

Read the “quote” from the last post…where is your focus? Is our light shining?
